Great post, many many thanks.

I just installed Centos 5 on my VPS with Plesk 9.0.1.
Had some issues installing PHP 5.2.6 and ruby 1.8.6.

Well with this post i managed to get it all up and running in no time PHP 5 running on Apache 2.0.46 and Rails smoothly side by side.

Thx again.

That's a good point, and something I will do. For my purpose here, I thought leaving it as it was installed would make the fact that there are now multiple Ruby instances installed a little more vivid, pointing out the need to reinstall gems, etc.

Thanks for your comment.

I create a symlink from /opt/ruby-enterprise to whatever version of REE I just compiled.

Just saves the step of having to edit your Apache config.

Good write up!
